IV. Jesus encounters His mother

Jesus trudges on through the steep and narrow streets of Jerusalem. At a crossing he suddenly sees a woman crouching on the pavement like a vision, his mother Mary.

His thoughts focus only on her, he wants to touch her, soothe her, but she is too far away and dumbstruck by the horror unfolding before her. Paralyzed with compassion she has to watch her son going to be crucified.
